Package description: "Egg pasta with British chicken in a cheese and smoked bacon sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese"
My verdict: The pasta pieces in this were well cooked, soft but not disintegrating, and the chicken did taste reconstituted and possibly bulked up with fillers, but it's by far not the worst microwave meat I've ever had. The sauce tasted decent at first, not too thick and claggy, but as the meal went on it developed an unpleasant stogy texture - possibly due to exposure with the air. The bacon tasted more like cheap thick ham rather than bacon - there was no crispness to it and not much saltiness or any other flavour, which, considering bacon is meant to be crisp and salty, makes it a big bacon fail. And the mozzarella was more or less non-existent, what there was of it disintegrated into little lint-like pieces and didn't add anything in terms of flavour, texture, or appearance.
Appearance: 7 - didn't look too dissimilar from the packaging, and the pasta and chicken pieces don't look deformed.
Tastiness: 6 - the sauce left me with a weird gluey texture in my mouth, which put a bit of a dampener on the meal.
Fillability: 5 - I wasn't raving hungry afterwards but I did feel like it needed something more.
Overall: 6 - I'd eat it again, but next time I'd get a bread roll or something to help me mop up the sauce and to bulk up the meal. I'd also eat it quicker so the sauce wouldn't go funny.
